Food Safety Policy

The Group Rui Costa e Sousa & Irmão (GRCSI), aware of Hygiene and Food Safety importance of its products, has been developing constant investments in the most diverse areas: infrastructures, equipments, qualified technicians in order to better enable the execution of processes associated with the SGSA (Food Safety Management System).

GRCSI has defined and implemented a SGSA based on the following principles:
- Meet all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements;
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements and expectations, maintaining good communication. Carry out a continuous assessment of their satisfaction;
- Periodically evaluate and select suppliers. Demand quality accuracy of the products and services provided, maintaining good communication, with the aim of ensuring quality and food safety;
- Continuously improve the quality of the processes, products and effectiveness of the food safety management system using the best technology. Anticipate and follow the changes and evolutions of the market, developing new products and techniques to better meet the expectations and needs of our clients;
- Provide to our employees an adequate work environment, technical resources and infrastructures, access to training and development of skills necessary to carry out the activities assigned to them, and promoting the importance of food safety awareness;
- Promote teamwork, through effective internal and external communication with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers and competent authorities;
- Contribute to the improvement of environmental conditions, through the proper use of resources, as well as adequate management of the residues resulting from the factory activity;
- Ensure the maintenance of the Food Safety Management System in order to ensure the realization of products in accordance with established procedures;
- Ensure that the correct identification, evaluation and control of hazards and risks related to Food Safety are carried out;
- Encourage the continuous improvement of the organization and the periodic review of the Food Safety Management System;
- Create and implement actions that contribute to the improvement of the Company's sustainability, giving preference to companies that share the same concern;
- Promote the sustainability of marine ecosystems, giving priority to certified MSC suppliers;
Food safety involves all GRCSI employees, so the whole structure is aware of and committed to continually improve its SGSA.
